For age 3 years and up, the program
features on building a love for music through ensemble playing in a
nurturing environment.
Based on the philosophy of Dr Shinichi
Suzuki:
that if children were surrounded by musical sounds, they would develop a
remarkable ability in music in the same way that they learn their own
Mother Tongue language.
The course adheres to
Suzuki training materials and methodology.
The program includes:-
-
repertoire
-
singing/solfedge
-
ear
training
-

Some of the
key principles of the Suzuki Method are outlined
below:-
-
Through the Mother Tongue Approach - every child can learn music, just as
every child can learn his/her mother tongue through parents. Given a
nurturing environment, a child can develop his language ability.
-
Learning at a very young age, with
proper attention and encouragement, will enable the
child to develop his/her potential more successfully
-
Progress in learning through
repetitive exercises and rehearsals, and confidence building, before
moving to the next stage.
-
Group playing with
other children would help develop skills, just as the case where spoken
language skills improve if the child mingles with other children.
