Family Music for Toddlers (ages 24 months to 3 1/2 years)

An early childhood program that invites preschool children to experience the world around them through singing, movement, listening, playing and creating music. The classes offer developmentally and age-appropriate activities that help awaken and develop a child's innate joy and musical ability. In addition to being a time for joyful music-making and social interaction, these classes lay a solid foundation for future musical experiences such as piano, choir or other instrument lessons.

The duration of each class is 40 minutes and classes are conducted once a week in a group setting. One parent is required to accompany the child.

Features and Activities

The course activities nurture the fine motor coordination, control, learning, musical, vocal, expressive and relating skills in a fun filled manner through :

Body movement activities.
Singing, dancing and focused listening.
The use of musical instruments.
Facilitating expression of feelings.
Parent participation to develop a strong musical bond between the parent and child.

Family Materials

Four separate packets are available:

Sing With Me
Dance With Me
Play With Me
Clap With Me

Each consists of a parent's activity book, instrument , a CD and a pouch. All of which will enable the parent to continue the bonding and fun of music with the child at home.
